Början på lådor för bakre batterier
Har börjat bygga de bakre batterilådorna. Först gör jag en ram av 15x15x3mm vinkeljärn, som sedan kläs med 1mm aluminiumplåt. Lådorna blir ett par cm. större än batterierna de skall rymma eftersom det skall dit 1½cm isolering också.
Provmontering av det som skall bli den bakersta batterilådan. Batterierna i denna kommer att sticka upp några cm. över bagagerumsgolvet, de skall senare täckas av ett kraftigt löstagbart lock.
Bakre batterilådan sedd underifrån. Den här bilden var tagen innan rostlagningen gjordes, vilket den uppmärksamme nog ser.
Batterilåda 2 som monteras mellan bakre stötdämparfästena. Ramen till den här lådan blir öppen bakåt, så att batterierna kan lastas in på plats. Senare skall jag tillverka en kraftig lucka med spännen till denna som täcker batterierna. Denna låda kommer att rymma 12 batterier, på bild är 6st stycken satta på plats på prov.
Infästningen av denna låda blir kraftig eftersom den sitter bakom ryggstödet, typ. så kraftig att man skulle kunna bogsera en bil med linan fäst i lådan. Inga elefanter i baksätet så att säga.. De 12 batterierna kommer också att vara buntade tillsammans till ett paket, med 4st stålband.
Uppdatering (22/3-14). Egentligen rätt vansinnigt att bagagerummet inte var avskjilt från kupén med en hel plåt bakom ryggstödet. Tänk tanken att man har ett bilbatteri eller något annat tungt och kompakt föremål i bagaget och krockar.. Det skulle då flyga rakt igenom ryggstödet och defenitivt bryta av ryggraden på eventuell passagerare. På den här punkten blir min batterilåda en förbättring av bilen.
Slutligen 2 bilder på infästningarna till batterilådan ovan, totalt 8 bult med stora karosseribrickor på undersidan.
Innan lådorna monteras permanent så skall bagagerummet lackas, kommer att bli halvblank svart, bagarumsmattan är för övrigt också svart.

No, the batteries will not just sit in the boxes, i will make a cover for the boxes that will clamp down the batteries and hold them rigidly in place. In the pictures the box frames are not finished, they where just put in place for testing and measurments.
